CANCER SEASON - NEW MOON - MERCURY RETROGRADE - REVOLUTION - APOCALYPSE -
WOAH.
There is so much to say that I'm not sure where to even begin. I want to keep this short for the sake of our over-saturated information-obsessed brains. I imagine you are hurting and burnt out with snippets of revolutionary joy and progress woven into the tapestry of what it is to be a human right now. We have got to take a deep breath in and out. We have to pause to gain footing, ground, and to remember our nature; remember that we came here during this time for a reason.
We have to lean into what unites us, not what separates us. It has been and continues to be a groundbreaking ongoing moment in history and I for one am riding these waves and diving into these waters like never before.
One of my favorite astrologers, Rick Levine, refers to this time (actually to all of 2020) as the Apocalypse. The origin of this word stems from the Latin root of apo, meaning to reveal, uncover, disclose and kel, meaning to cover or conceal. We are currently undergoing a kind of lifting of the veil, where the illusions of equality, justice, and trust in the system are being truly uncovered for all to see.
What only some once acknowledged as prejudice, injustice, and oppression is now at the forefront; out in the public for all to see. How magnificent is that? We are awakening to what we need to do in order to be better human beings, to show up for one another, to take responsibility for the ways in which we have failed, to look within, and to continue to live from a place of compassion.
This is a time of IMMENSE GROWTH. Have patience with yourself and the world around you.
Every day will be different. Some days I am celebrating what seems to be huge victories for humanity, while other days I am frozen in despair and honestly wanting to find a one-way ticket away from earth.
The pressure is real. We cannot do this all at once. This is not a marathon, it is a lifelong practice and we'll need to use every tool in the book to stay grounded, centered, and emotionally full so that we can show up for the kind of change that can only come from the deepest wells of love. A dear friend of mine (a Pisces no less) recently said something to me that really stuck.
He said, "Anything not rooted in love will eventually crumble."
Boy, do I hope he's right.
Astrologically, June and July continue to be their own kind of wild roller coaster ride and with the Sun moving into the sign of Cancer next week, things will certainly get a whole lot more emotional. Cancer is a water sign and is known to be the most touchy-feely of the three (Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces), so you may want to build a bigger boat to ride these waves and grab some tissues while you are at it.
Don't take this emotional energy the wrong way because feeling is where the power to manifest resonates from.
We are opening to the ocean of love.
We are swimming in compassion.
Get ready to feel your feels.
Get ready to process as you have never processed before and to show up for yourself with the great energy of The Mother. Think depths of the ocean, floating in salt water, swimming in the waves, being in a float tank, or being wrapped in a cozy blanket of whatever feels like love to you. Cancer is ruled by the moon; intuition, subconscious, the past, psychology, and why we do what we do, family, and home will be big themes. Embrace this. Lean into your loved ones. Breathe into your heart.
June 21st brings Cancer season; the ultimate power of compassion and nurturing; if we so choose to use it this way.
When I think of Cancerian energy during these times, I imagine a loving protester packing her backpack with extra water, snacks, and medical supplies to support others "just in case". I think of showing up for your friend who is moving through something painful and just listening with love without trying to fix or change the problem. I imagine a parent cuddling up with their child to learn about the history of oppression in this country and having an honest conversation about how to lovingly care for humanity. The high road of Cancer is to unconditionally love and be loved. Let love FLOW. Cancerian energy sometimes wants to fix and problem-solve, but often, the most loving thing we can do for those in need is to listen to, acknowledge, and truly seek to understand their suffering.
The Summer Solstice and New Moon on June 20th will carry these themes. This is a time to support, hold, cherish, cuddle, and be in gratitude for the ones you love.
On Saturday, June 20th from 6 - 8 PM, join me for a workshop to dance with being human in these confusing times. We will show up exactly as we are, connect, learn, and dance. I haven't verbally stated this in an email before, but it feels important to let you know that black lives, brown lives, and LGBTQ lives matter and have always mattered dearly to me, for these are the lives of my friends, clients, role models, and loved ones. ALL are welcome here. Join me!
Please, spread the word.
These workshops are deeply healing for me and I am forever in gratitude to the community that arrives to hold space for themselves and each other.
May we acknowledge, see, and feel the pain of those who are suffering, so that we may lessen the burden of the collective. May we acknowledge, feel, and see our own suffering, so that we may do the courageous work of showing up and healing.
As always, I love you deeply and cannot wait to experience being human with you by my side.
